MotoSenso Privacy Policy

MotoSenso is a motorcycle diagnostics app for connecting to supported OBD adapters, viewing motorcycle diagnostic information, creating vehicle records, saving maintenance and fault history, exporting reports, and optionally using MotoSenso cloud AI analysis.

This Privacy Policy explains what data MotoSenso collects, how it is used, how it is protected, and how you can request deletion.

Information We Collect

Account And Profile Data

When you create or use a MotoSenso account, we may collect:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Firebase user ID
  • Optional phone number
  • Country
  • Optional profile fields such as rider details, emergency contact details, license or experience notes if you choose to add them
  • Optional profile photo. When a signed-in user selects one, MotoSenso uploads it to private account-owned Firebase Storage so it can be restored after reinstalling the app or signing in on another supported device.
  • Sign-in provider information, such as email/password or Google sign-in

Vehicle And Garage Data

If you save vehicles in the app, we may collect vehicle information you enter or generate, including:

  • Motorcycle make, model, year, and selected diagnostic profile
  • VIN if you enter or read it
  • Mileage or odometer value if you enter or read it
  • Engine and configuration notes
  • Personal or client vehicle labels
  • Optional owner/client contact details that you enter for customer-style reports
  • Optional vehicle image. When a signed-in user selects one, MotoSenso uploads it to private account- and vehicle-owned Firebase Storage so it can be restored after reinstalling the app or signing in on another supported device. Guest/demo vehicle images remain on the device unless deliberately shared or exported. MotoSenso does not upload device-local image references or tokenized download URLs to Firestore.

Subscription And Purchase Data

When store-managed subscriptions are available and you purchase or restore a subscription, MotoSenso may process:

  • The store provider, subscription product ID, plan interval, and entitlement tier
  • Subscription state, expiration, pending, replacement, cancellation, and revocation status supplied by Apple or Google Play
  • Limited verification, acknowledgement, notification, and reconciliation status needed to grant or remove access
  • One-way hashes of store transaction and ownership identifiers used to prevent one purchase from being claimed by multiple MotoSenso accounts

Apple or Google Play processes the payment and store account information for the purchase. MotoSenso does not receive or store your full payment-card or bank-account details. The app sends the store purchase token or signed transaction to MotoSenso Cloud for verification, but MotoSenso does not retain the raw purchase token or signed transaction after verification. MotoSenso uses a provider-specific one-way identifier derived from your Firebase user ID to bind a store purchase to your authenticated MotoSenso account.

Diagnostic, Logbook, And Report Data

If you run diagnostics or save records, MotoSenso may collect:

  • Fault codes and diagnostic results
  • Diagnostic session summaries
  • PID/live-data session summaries and chart samples
  • Freeze-frame style snapshots where available
  • Maintenance and fault logbook records
  • Notes, dates, mileage, status, and report metadata
  • Generated report content when saved to your cloud account

Moto AI Data

If an eligible signed-in user requests Moto AI cloud analysis, MotoSenso sends a limited diagnostic payload to MotoSenso Cloud. The payload can include the selected motorcycle year, make, and model; up to eight fault entries containing the code, module, status, severity, and title; a limited local-analysis title, ride recommendation, and first-check recommendation; and bounded freeze-frame keys and values. MotoSenso Cloud may add a small number of selected diagnostic knowledge snippets before requesting analysis from its AI service provider.

The AI-provider payload does not include your VIN, mileage, general notes, owner or client details, name, email address, phone number, profile photo, vehicle photo, Firebase user ID, authentication token, App Check token, or AI provider credential. Firebase Authentication and App Check tokens are sent to MotoSenso Cloud only to authenticate and protect the request. MotoSenso does not ship the AI provider API key in the mobile app.

MotoSenso uses the provider as a paid service provider and has disabled voluntary Gemini API request/response logging and dataset sharing for provider product improvement. The provider may still process limited service and abuse-prevention records under its applicable service terms. MotoSenso does not use your diagnostic request to train a MotoSenso model and does not claim zero-data-retention treatment from the provider.

External Diagnostic Search

If you choose to open a diagnostic search, MotoSenso may prepare a Google Search query containing the selected motorcycle year, make, model, and fault code or codes. The query opens outside MotoSenso. MotoSenso does not add your VIN, mileage, owner/client data, profile or account identity, notes, freeze-frame values, email address, phone number, or Moto AI output to that query. Google is an independent third party, and its handling of the search is governed by Google's privacy practices.

App, Device, And Security Data

MotoSenso may collect limited technical information needed to run and protect the app, including:

  • Firebase Auth identifiers
  • Firebase App Check and security tokens
  • Crash reports and app error details
  • App performance diagnostics
  • Device or app identifiers used by Firebase services
  • Basic request metadata handled by cloud services for security and service operation

Third-party authentication and cloud SDKs may process additional technical data as described in their platform privacy manifests. On iOS, the Google Sign-In SDK declares name, email address, phone number, coarse location, user ID, device ID, other usage data, and other data types for authentication, app functionality, and analytics. Firebase Auth and Firestore declare limited diagnostic data. MotoSenso does not use these SDK declarations for targeted advertising or cross-app tracking, and the current iOS SDK manifests declare no tracking domains. MotoSenso itself does not call an iOS location SDK or upload an application location value.

Retired Website Waitlist

The public MotoSenso website no longer has a waitlist or signup form and does not currently collect email addresses through a waitlist.

Email addresses previously submitted through the former early-access waitlist may remain in a restricted private archive retained from the retired Hostinger/PocketBase website. MotoSenso does not use that archive to operate a current public signup flow. A previously submitted address is kept only until MotoSenso completes the archive-retention closure or receives and verifies a deletion request, unless a longer period is required for a specific legal or security reason.

To request removal of a previously submitted waitlist email address, contact support@motosenso.com. MotoSenso verifies the request before removing the matching archived record.

Permissions

MotoSenso requests permissions only for app features:

  • Bluetooth: to find and connect to your OBD adapter.
  • Location on Android: used for Bluetooth discovery compatibility. MotoSenso does not use this permission for background location tracking.
  • Photos/media: used when you choose a profile or vehicle image, share an export, or save generated report images to your device. Signed-in profile and vehicle photos are optionally uploaded for private account sync; guest/demo images remain local unless deliberately shared or exported.
  • Internet: used for sign-in, cloud sync, App Check, Firestore, and Moto AI.

How We Use Information

MotoSenso uses collected information to:

  • Create and manage your account
  • Save your profile, garage, logbook, diagnostic logs, and reports
  • Connect to supported OBD adapters and display diagnostics
  • Generate maintenance, diagnostic, and logbook reports
  • Provide Moto AI diagnostic analysis when you request it
  • Sync user-owned data across your devices
  • Verify, restore, and manage subscription access
  • Prevent duplicate purchase claims, subscription fraud, and billing abuse
  • Improve reliability, fix crashes, and protect against abuse
  • Verify account deletion and support requests
  • Process verified removal requests for email addresses retained in the retired website archive
  • Comply with legal, security, and platform requirements

Where Data Is Stored

MotoSenso uses Firebase and Google Cloud services, including Firebase Authentication, Firestore, Firebase Storage, App Check, and Cloud Functions. User-owned cloud data is stored under user-specific paths such as users/{uid} and nested collections for vehicles, logbook records, diagnostic logs, PID sessions, and crash reports. An optional signed-in profile photo is stored at users/{uid}/profile/avatar, and an optional signed-in vehicle photo is stored at users/{uid}/vehicles/{vehicleId}/photo, in private Firebase Storage.

Some data is also stored locally on your device so the app can work smoothly and support offline or demo workflows.

Subscription entitlement, purchase-hash, ownership-hash, and bounded billing event records are stored in server-owned collections that the mobile app cannot read or write directly. The app receives only the limited entitlement response needed to determine access.

Sharing And Service Providers

MotoSenso does not sell personal data.

MotoSenso may process data through service providers needed to operate the app, including Firebase, Google Cloud, and AI infrastructure used by MotoSenso Cloud. These providers process data to provide authentication, database, security, cloud functions, AI analysis, hosting, logging, and reliability services.

Apple and Google Play process subscription purchases and provide MotoSenso with limited transaction and subscription-status information for purchase verification, restoration, renewal, cancellation, refund, and fraud prevention. Their handling of payment and store-account information is governed by their respective privacy terms.

For Moto AI, the external AI provider receives only the compact diagnostic payload described above. MotoSenso's backend authenticates the user and app, enforces consent and usage limits, and keeps the provider credential server-side.

Google Sign-In may also process the account and technical data described in its platform privacy manifest to provide sign-in and related service analytics. Firebase SDK privacy manifests similarly describe limited service diagnostics. These service-provider declarations are included in MotoSenso's store privacy disclosures.

MotoSenso may also disclose information if required by law, to protect users or the service, to prevent fraud or abuse, or as part of a business transfer with appropriate notice.

Data Security

MotoSenso uses security measures designed to protect user data, including:

  • HTTPS/encrypted network transport
  • Firebase Authentication
  • Firebase App Check / Play Integrity where available
  • Firestore rules designed around user-owned data paths
  • Firebase Storage rules that limit profile- and vehicle-photo access to the authenticated owner and restrict upload size, type, and required metadata
  • Backend-only AI provider keys
  • Server-side verification for cloud AI requests

No system is perfectly secure, but MotoSenso works to limit access to data and avoid shipping sensitive backend secrets inside the app.

Data Retention

MotoSenso keeps account and cloud data, including optional private profile and vehicle photos, while your account exists or while needed to provide app features. Removing your profile photo removes its live private Storage object from app access and clears its profile metadata. Removing a motorcycle photo removes that live private object while keeping the motorcycle record. Removing a motorcycle removes its live private photo object and associated cloud motorcycle record. A cloud provider recovery copy can remain inaccessible to the app until the configured Storage soft-delete period expires. Locally stored device data may remain on your device until you delete it, uninstall the app, clear app storage, or delete specific records inside the app.

Some records may be retained for a limited time where needed for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or backup recovery.

Subscription cancellation, expiration, or account deletion removes or ends account access as applicable, but limited hashed transaction, ownership, and subscription-status records may be retained when reasonably necessary for store reconciliation, fraud and duplicate-claim prevention, refunds, chargebacks, disputes, tax or financial recordkeeping, or legal compliance. MotoSenso does not retain raw purchase tokens or signed store transactions.

MotoSenso Cloud may keep a normalized Moto AI response in a backend-only cache for up to seven days so an identical diagnostic request can reuse the result. The cache key is a content hash and the cache document does not contain a Firebase user ID, name, or email address. Backend-only pseudonymous per-user rate-limit counters expire after up to two days, and a global provider-usage counter expires after up to eight days. Firestore deletes eligible records asynchronously after their expiration time, so deletion may occur after the stated expiration rather than at the exact instant it is reached.

Account And Data Deletion

Please include the email address used for your MotoSenso account. MotoSenso may verify account ownership before deletion. Deleting your account removes the Firebase Authentication account and associated cloud profile, garage, logbook, diagnostic logs, diagnostic state, PID sessions, saved reports, and account crash reports, plus live private Firebase Storage profile and vehicle photos, except a specifically identified category that must be retained temporarily for a legitimate security, legal, compliance, or documented provider recovery reason.

Deleting your MotoSenso account does not cancel an Apple App Store or Google Play subscription. You must manage or cancel the subscription through the store account used to purchase it. Uninstalling MotoSenso also does not cancel a subscription.

Children

MotoSenso is not intended for children. The app is designed for motorcycle owners, technicians, and qualified users working around vehicles and diagnostic equipment.

Changes To This Policy

MotoSenso may update this Privacy Policy as the app changes. If material changes are made, the updated policy will be published at:
